one of the most beautiful mornings for many months, and i awoke just in time to see the sky darken, and the rain fall. a few years back, i was sitting at the desktop typing something like that, listening to the exact same song.
why i love the mornings isnt really much of a real reason, but i think it represents one of the saddest times in my life - the time where subconsciously mornings began to represent freedom, to represent that i didnt have to worry about whats going to happen to me for at least until the sun sets. why i love the rain isnt much of a reason either, in my year of trouble, it came to represent my feeling of loss, and hearing voices and footsteps of people through the sound of raindrops made me feel that i wasnt that alone in the silence of the house.
sometimes on days like this, you question yourself, on whether there is a need to let your emotions get the better of you. sometimes you dont know if people disagree with you, or are unhappy with you, but you choose to go with whatever way your heart tells you to.
the rain is getting bigger, as i write.
emo emo! alright, baseball then. the mariners just won the second game in a row coming out from their seven game slump. i hope this continues, and ichiro, please please play well. =)
it hurts when i sneeze. i hate muscle soreness. haha. its kind of funny, when you think about it. now im afraid to sneeze.

tired tired tired. haha. i know, that's like super unexciting news, but i am tired. napfa today and i dont know how many times the f word came out of my mouth. it was kind of funny actually. the guys were there too, moral support i guess. >_< set-building for multi cam production for the past two days was good; hilarious moments, and you see the whole class working together.

sai kang sai kang! seems like the word we have been using all these while. today was just busy with just that. hha, but im okay with it, the whole day sort of just passed like that, so it was kind of cool.
empire for joy's birthday. happy belated birthday, girl! 19 le wor, thinking bout it, we've seen you through like what, three birthdays? woah. =) stay happy, alright? raffles creamery at last, got interesting ice cream! haha, pina colada plus strawberry ice cream tastes interestingly like kueh bangkit. you know, the white biscuit stuff you eat on chinese new year that melts in your mouth once you put it in. then we had chocolate plus white chocolate plus macadamia nuts and marshmallows. ^^
diana's birthday today. girl, you know what, im really realllly proud of you, and im so glad im here to learn from you. love you, and you will have a great year ahead! with all of us. hugs.
have been enjoying quiet nights at home with the music on. because its cold outside, its nice! rainy days have taken up most of the week, and though sometimes its freezing in tep, its better than being hot and stifling bah. =)
mariners have been on a losing streak, while the yankees have won their fifth in a row. is this like a pattern or something? liews.

IVE FINISHED THE BLOODY BOOK! the book that has been haunting me for quite a long while now.
i think i first picked up harry potter and the philosopher's stone when siyi passed me that and chamber of secrets or something. i didnt quite get the obsession of those people raving over the book then, but when i turned the first page i was hooked. now many years later, we finally reach the last page of the last book, and i really am well and truly satisfied. jk rowling is truly a genius for being able to write like tt. the ideas that link her book together.. wow.
feeling really happy now, actually. =D

i remembered this song from my secondary school days - during a rainy saturday morning it was one of the best songs to listen to. but i lost it all in my old mp3, and i forgot the name of the song. but thanks to loyal w-inds.' fan chelsea, we both managed to find the song again! hahaa. damn happy. thanks girl!
duagu's house twice in two nights - the second time because i forgot my handphone. have been surviving the whole day today without a handphone - not good. been worrying if anyone needed to call me or something, and by some miracle the phone was not flat when i reached duagu's house today. so my two evenings have been spent with the dogs at duagu's house! the new addition to the family, sangio, is super duper cute. being a miniature, everything about him is cute. so small and furry and kawaii!! to the extreme.
cute cute? cuteee? haha. sangio was really curious about andy and andre too, kept walking around their feet and licking them. so sweet right? wah raos can die. haha.
pinot the six-year-old boyboy was a good dog today, he sat beside me when i was watching tv and just looked at me quietly. cute too!
duagu bought santaro's sushi back home for me! actually he was waiting for me to call so i could join him for dinner there. pui, i didnt call. but first time i had uni, hirame, chuutoro, tai plus other sushi that sounds like they came straight out from shota no sushi. woah good good. worth the trip there lah, hor. =P
tiredd out. seems like harry potter got leaked out early in the united states. but i dont care. anyone who comes up to me and say one word about anything that will happen in the last book, i will personally see to your burial. darryn, andre, andy, azmi, simin, anyone else who read the spoilers, you have been warned. rawr. haaha.

a weird, weird day today. ive become very vulgar! like, really. its all pinball's fault, i think. it attaches you so much to the little silver sphere hopping and bouncing around inside the screen that you curse everytime it drops down pass the two handles you control.

andre is so pwned by me today. haha, sorry, i just had to write that down just for the pleasure of looking at it next time and laughing at how pwned andre was. =P anws, pinball match culminated to a prize if anyone hits 3 million points, which, incidentally, i did first. pinball rankings now stand as such: velda - 6.4 mil, andy - 5.3 mil, jason - 2.8 mil, andre - 2.4 mil. wahaha. but it was a funny day. ^^
harry potter finally, on monday. disappointing start, and so were certain parts after that, but well. i always forgive harry potter films. i have for the past three already, anw. there were good parts. liked how the death of sirius was shot, very chinese drama actually ah.
yt's performance on sunday, met hiroshi when he was there at mama bakery after popping by singapore for a (literally) flying visit. hiroshi, i found the tag you were talking about, im sorry i didnt see it then! haha. but anws, to reply your question, thanks for the compliment about my japanese, i actually listened and watched a lot of japanese variety shows, and i sort of got the accent from there, i think. basically thats why my japanese is a little off, i cnt speak really politely ^^" as in i tend to be a little variety-ey, if u get what i mean. =) okaasan bought a huge bouquet of flowers for yanting to congratulate her on her performance, that was really sweet of her. yt was really touched. we'll definitely visit her often.
GReeeeN is turning out to be surprisingly good. i didnt expect them to be a great band, but their music is strangly addictive, especially this song called [UNITY], it's sort of like not my kind of music, but its very catchy, and it makes me happy. grab their album from me if anyone's interested!
lots of things to talk about today. signing off with a note that the yankees and mariners both won their games today. wheee. matsui is on a hitting streak now, with six homers in nine games. woohoo!

havent heard of this band before, therefore i didnt try out the song. but it seemed to stay on the oricon charts for quite a few weeks, so i decided to listen to the song. good tune, and cool lyrics. similar lyrics style from shonan nokaze, but still it works, i guess.

good songs these few weeks from oricon, angela aki has a new more upbeat song, so does ayaka, and sukima switch. =) nice songs, all of them. ayaka's [jewelry day] seem like a nice song to listen to in the morning. oh yeah, watched eason chan's [hao jiu bu jian] PV on tv today. charlie chaplin black and white fits the music perfectly - but perhaps should not have let him lip-sync in some scenes, if he were silent in all scenes perhaps it will bring across the feeling of wanting to see another person much more strongly across? but eason chan as charlie chaplin was a genius idea. ^^

filled with thoughts about the past, about the people who influenced me a lot after dinner at empire that day with sharon kuah, kok aun and jeremy. as i sat at table a, looking at the place around me, i was hit by the fact that this was the place where i really grew up. the place that made velda who she is today. the tiles on the wall, the marble tables, the wooden chairs.. something happened at every part of the restaurant - the kitchen, the office, ah teng's, stations 1 and 2, the outdoor area, the dimsum kitchen..
sharon was someone i havent seen in a loong while. she was the person who was always with me throughout that time when i was fresh out of secondary school working in a totally new environment. ah ford was someone who stood by me, all the time. he never gave up on me, and looked after me in his sweet quiet way. i owe him a lot, really. havent really had the chance to thank him for all that he has done for me, for making me smile when i didnt feel like smiling. kok aun, who in his abrupt way, managed to accept all the barbs i throw at him, and being such a great friend to be with. empire changed a lot, but everything else is still there. ah kent, for not giving up on me, and always worrying i wont be happy. thank you. there are still many many many people who have influenced my life in one way or another, but i cnt thank them all now.
but people i hold dear to my heart have left, one by one.
as i walked out of empire, past courtyard and back, past chijmes, as i took the bus home from the bus stop, as i got off at my stop, as i walked home.. i remembered a lot of stuff. i know its not time to reminsce about the past, but these memories are what keep me going, especially when im not in the best of moods.
perhaps its the sun this morning that shone at me straight in the face and said, "velda, you are around people who love you so much they dont want to see you hurt."
how many times have i disappointed them? yet how many times have they pulled me back up?
she let me cry on her shoulder, and then said, "okay, you feeling better? go wash your face, and come back smiling, alright?"
he shook his head and hit me lightly on mine, "why cry for this, you stupid girl? come, you got time? we go yum cha."
he stopped me on my way out and said, "no, she cannot go down yet, later then she go, i want to knock some sense into her."

WOOHOOOOOOooo.. haha. i was a little high a couple of hours back, but ive cooled down enough to eat lunch and read all the postgame news there were about the all-star game. baseballon espn from 8am to 12.15pm. woah. hah. mirza was funny, he was watching from work, and very sweetly reminded me that it was on. though i was already staring at the screen when his sms came in. =P thanks mirza.
well, the american league won it 5-4; the national league was leading 1-0 right from the first inning, and something happened in the fifth inning that made me jump off my sofa.
ICHIRO suuuzuukiiiii!! that was what happened. haha. he hit a ball off chris young, the NL pitcher, which almost reached the stands, fell back into the ballpark, but caromed wildly off in another direction, and allowed ichiro to round the bases and score. the first inside-the-park homerun in all-star game history. the high-fives he gave the AL team and the smiles all around were priceless. deserves another watch at 10.30pm later. all in all a really cool experience. =)
SHUAI right? haha. ichiro was awarded MVP for the game. for all seven games he played as an all-star, the first one that i watch live is the one he gets the MVP. happy happy. ^^ i think one day i have to make my way down somewhere for a game. *crosses fingers and prays*

i think yt will like; but the american league uniforms for the all-star game is too er, orange for my taste. thats ichiro saying hello! to barry bonds. =)
just watched the state farm home run derby on espn - which vladimir guerrero of los angeles angels won. no one i really supported in this derby, so it didnt really matter to me. but it was fun because everyone was having fun at the ballpark, with players from both the american and national leagues sitting on deck, with children with baseball gloves running after the balls that were hit. you have ichiro and arod talking to barry bonds, jose reyes whooping at every homerun hit.. basically interacting and enjoying this midsummer break.

先「恋愛偏差値」って言うドラマをもう一度見ました。三つの物語で、最後の４話をみた。財前直見さんと柴咲コウが出演して、まだ脇役しているのは柏原崇、つんくさん、柳葉敏朗など。涙ボロボロになった。前見たけど、そんなに感動したのは初めて。昔まだ若いかな．．ドラマの本当に伝いたい事を知らなくて、普通の恋愛ドラマと思てった。最初は柏原崇だけ目に入ったけど、今の私はやはり柳葉敏朗さんが演じる史郎っていうキャラクターに感動しまいました。そんなに簡単にいえないけど、こういう黙々で相手のためになんとかする男、私が一番尊敬しますね。大人の世界は別ですかね。もうすぐ二十歳になりますけど、こういう男見つかれる？恋愛は単純のものよ、きっと。
the whole telephone conversation scene in the last minutes of the drama was really well-written; it wasnt just a break-up, it was one filled with pain and heartbreak, and the script was so good it brought out exactly how both characters were dealing with the grief. especially the last part, when shiro called out to mizuko - just her name - was enough to make anyone tear. yanagiba toshiro is a great actor.

weekend updates::
happy birthday mr azhar! =) i really think he has done a lot for us, and for me.. and i love him for that. he's the lecturer that cracked me up millions of times, the one i seem to be always visiting in his office even if its just to talk nonsense stuff. and i think he's probably the same kind of guy to many others in class, based on the dedications in the video we made for him. his car was totally vandalised by us, with post-its, balloons and ribbons. it actually looks quite cute, and he drove home with all that nonsense on his car, though he took down the long balloon because he said it looked like a dildo. -_-"
it's my birthday today, honk three times! on the bumper.
and he msged to say people are honking. wahaha. how fun is that!
graduation ceremony for sbm ytd, and the video was really well-received. finally, one plus month of stress and almost-tearing-my-hair-out pressure is over. good food at the vip lounge!
soccer match between the nyp staff team and rp staff team. though we lost, but well. it was fun watching the lecturers shout to each other across the field. lionel teo is my new hero. haha. besides james wong. and azhar. and tse kwok kwang! =P
supper at the quality hotel. andre zammed three bowls of porridge. first time we saw him eat more than andy. haha. basically high-class cai png in a hotel, but it wasnt too bad =)
rain on saturday morning makes me happy.
okajima hideki is the last man selected to be on the all-star team for the AL next wednesday singapore time. he isnt as popular as matsuzaka daisuke, but i think he's nice too. his numbers have been really good, i heard. and the yankees just recorded a win against the los angeles angels, 14-9. ^^
darryn asked me to stop with the baseball news. aiyah, just stop reading at tt part lor. i write to remind myself mah, baseball everyday also got match, a bit hard to keep up.

people ask me to write then i write, bu shi hen mei you mian zi? =P but in the end i still write lah. haha. waiting for yanting here in coldroom, and its getting colder by the freakin second. everything's dark outside, and here i am listening to ryu shi won's beautiful song. =) i think my favourite scene from the drama [beautiful days] was when he sat at the keyboard at the shopping mall and started playing this song. kakkoii! and i dont know where my drama went to. -_-" as always.
continuing this entry from home, after coming back from gawain's house - looked at some pictures gawain took on his trip to oita - woah.. maybe the countryside is gg to be a really really very attractive place to visit as well =)
transformers was surprisingly good. i know, everyone else who told me that it was, yes, it was. i think the four of us enjoyed the movie from start to end. though there were confusing parts, but this is really one of the best movies i have watched in a long long long while. movies coming up - harry potter, of course; national treasure 2; and we saw the trailer for ratatouille. haha, french chefs.. heheh. cnt wait for harry potter, my favourite book, and i hope it wouldnt disappoint.
graduation week. we have outstanding seniors.
mariners lost 17-3 today. what kind of score is that?! yankees won, though, through wang chien-ming. ^^
